Tuesday 11 September 2001 United Airlines Boeing 767-222 N612UA s/n 21873.

Flight UA175 from Boston – Logan int’l apt. (BOS) to Los Angeles (LAX) with 9 crew and 56 passengers. First flight : 27 January 1983. Airframe hrs : 66647 cycles : 17569 engines : PW JT9D-7. 5 hijackers took over control and deliberately flew the aircraft against the south tower of the WTC at New York between the 78 th and 84 th floor. All on board died in the crash and about 900 people died who were trapped inside the building when it collapsed. According to the FAA accident report the aircraft involved was a 767-200ER; can be N612UA was converted to -200ER standard.
